Hatred In The World

Even through there have been great, great news lately (Obama is President!), the wonderful state of California has now voted yes on Proposition 8.
I can't even say how angry that makes me.
Why can't people let other people just live/look/love the way they want?
I mean, no-one gets hurt.

Damn shame.

I agree. Our spirits, after all, are sexless. Why create restrictions just because we inhabit bodies which manifest in different sexes?

I have met straight people and I have met gay people, and of the two groups, I have to say that I generally find the gay people much more tolerant and accepting of the straight people than the other way around.

It's a shame!

Interesting point. What jumped to my mind was that smokers are more tolerant than non-smokers, too. Why is that? Because non-smokers don't disturb smokers by not-smoking. But smokers do disturb non-smokers by smoking. So, how does that translate to P8?

And here I wonder: How in God's name can a straight person be disturbed by a gay person? There is no sensible reason to feel disturbed - unless the disturbed people decide to be disturbed.

May be that's the reason for the sad decision that has been made: It has been made by disturbed people.
